The government subsidies NT$15 million — Travel to Penghu and Kaohsiung is now the cheapest ever

To revitalize the tourism industries of Kaohsiung City and Penghu County, the two local governments along with the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications launched a variety of promotional offers and campaigns on the 15th, allocating a total of NT$15 million in vouchers and discounts to attract domestic travelers.

The Tourism Bureau stated that in addition to domestic travelers, promotional packages have also been created for six overseas target markets including Japan and South Korea to further encourage international tourists to visit the Kaohsiung–Penghu area. Among them, in collaboration with China Airlines and EVA Air, a “Kaohsiung–Penghu Discount” program will be offered for five consecutive months starting October, providing a discount of JPY 10,000 per person. Singapore has partnered with China Airlines and EVA Air on the “Grandma’s Penghu Bay” independent travel package, offering a “stay one night, get one night free” deal in Penghu.

1. Subsidies for travel agencies organizing domestic tour groups to Penghu County, covering 1/2 of car rental fees, NT$250 per person per day for accommodation, and NT$150 per person per day for meals. September 5 – December 31
2. “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” routes to Penghu offer “Buy 2, Get 1 Free.” September 15 – January 31
3. Roam Penghu Givemefive FUN Easy Travel Vouchers — Receive NT$500 in travel shopping vouchers upon presenting a flight or ferry ticket to Penghu. October 1 – December 31
4. Incentives for companies organizing group trips to Penghu, hosting international conferences, seminars, incentive travel, or sporting events, with a maximum reward of NT$300,000. September 1 – March 31

Travel Discounts in Kaohsiung
1. Subsidies for travel agencies organizing tour groups to Kaohsiung City, covering 1/2 of car rental fees, NT$250 per person per day for accommodation, and NT$150 per person per day for meals. September 5 – December 31
2. During the campaign period, take the “Taiwan Sightseeing Bus” on any of the 9 Kaohsiung routes and enjoy “Buy 4, Get 1 Free.” September 15 – January 31
3. With the Kaohsiung Go Sightseeing Passport booklet, enjoy discounts at dozens of shops for a fun time in Kaohsiung. October 5 – December 31
4. Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Daxu Prayer Line and Kaohsiung Cultural Tourism Bus — one-ticket access. September 15 – December 31

1. Kaohsiung City Government launches the “Cultural Tourism Bus One-Ticket Pass,” allowing unlimited rides to famous attractions on cultural tourism buses, plus free rides on Kaohsiung city buses.
2. 1-Day Ticket for the Cultural Tourism Bus, now at a discounted price of NT$30 until the end of 2014.
3. Purchase a ticket for any of the six cultural tourism bus routes in Kaohsiung City, and you can ride any of the other five sightseeing bus routes and city buses unlimited times on the same day.

5. E-DA World Halloween event “Halloween Shout-Out” — Enter after 12:00 noon during the campaign period and students can enjoy a special price of NT$520 (original student ticket price NT$799). September 27 – October 31
