If you’ve been wanting to take a boat ride but haven’t been able to for various reasons, there’s “Ancre Café 安克黑咖啡” at the end of Tamsui Old Street that might just satisfy your small longing for riding the waves. The shop’s signature item is the “donut-shaped pancake.” Sip on a cup of coffee and enjoy a lovely afternoon.

One of the menu’s star items, the “Original Donut Pancake,” is a pancake shaped like a donut with an anchor pattern imprinted on its surface, giving off strong maritime vibes. It also comes with little bear-shaped syrup bottles and fresh cream. The warm pancake is Q弹 (chewy and bouncy) and fluffy, and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. Pair it with a mocha coffee and enjoy a moment of peaceful tranquility.

Ancre Café 安克黑咖啡 offers stunning mountain and sea views, situated right by Hobe Fishing Port and overlooking Guanyin Mountain on the opposite shore. The design blends marine and French country styles, featuring elements like anchors, vintage items, and French graffiti postcards to create a vibe where French elegance meets ocean charm.

The dining area is divided into three main sections. The left side is the main bar-style dining area, with high stools by the window being the most popular spot. The outdoor landscape seen through the wooden windows feels like a framed picture. The stools are tucked into corners, and the window frames cast soft light over them.
