There's a new option to get to Xiaoliuqiu Island (Little Liuqiu)! The Fengliu Line regular ferry service has launched — just a 40-minute trip from Kaohsiung

Xiaoliuqiu in Pingtung is one of the popular summer travel destinations, but getting there requires first traveling to Donggang in Pingtung to take a ferry. However, there’s a new alternative now. After more than a year of trial operations, the regular ferry service between Fengbitou in Kaohsiung and Xiaoliuqiu officially began on July 15. It operates one round trip per day. The ferry takes about 40 minutes, and also provides a free shuttle bus that runs between Kaohsiung MRT Xiaogang Station and the ferry terminal.

The Kaohsiung Fengbitou–Xiaoliuqiu route has been operating unscheduled trial flights since last year. After more than a year of operation, the “Fengliu Line” regular ferry service finally launched officially on July 15, with one round trip per day. The ferry departs from Kaohsiung at 9:30 AM daily and returns from Xiaoliuqiu at 6:00 PM. Additional corresponding sailings may be added on holidays as needed.

Round-trip tickets on the Fengliu Line are NT$450 for adults and NT$225 for children. However, in response to the summer vacation season, the route has introduced summer promotional fares — regardless of age, the fare is NT$200 per person on weekdays and NT$250 on holidays. To make it convenient for passengers to get to Fengbitou Fishing Port to board the ferry, a free round-trip shuttle bus is available from Exit 4 of Kaohsiung MRT Xiaogang Station. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes to reach the terminal, but advance registration is required.

[By car] Drive to Kaohsiung International Airport — follow Provincial Highway 17 for about 12 kilometers — turn right onto Nanxing Road and drive 1.1 kilometers — Fengbitou Fishing Port
[By bus] From Kaohsiung MRT Xiaogang Station — take the bus to Fengbitou Fishing Port — Kaohsiung City Bus Red 2A — after getting off, walk 800 meters (about 9 minutes) — Fengbitou Fishing Port
[By taxi] Arrive at Exit 1 of Xiaogang MRT Station, where you can take a taxi.
