Taipei Garden Hotel Launches Jin Yong Food Festival – Bringing Fictional Dishes to the Table

In collaboration with Yuan-Liou Publishing, Taipei Garden Hotel is hosting the Jin Yong Food Festival from August 1 to September 10 at its "Cui Ting" Chinese restaurant. The event brings to life the iconic dishes described in Jin Yong’s novels, such as "Whose Flute Is Playing as the Plum Blossoms Fall" and Beggar's Chicken prepared by Huang Rong for Hong Qigong, or the homemade dessert "Sweet Sticky Rice Stuffed Lotus Root" made by Qinghua for Chen Jialuo. Prices start from NT$180 per dish.

The Jin Yong Food Festival menu includes dishes featured in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" such as Stir-Fried Duck Feet, Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moonlight, Braised Quail, Whose Flute Is Playing as the Plum Blossoms Fall, Ginger-Vinegar Golden and Silver Pig’s Trotters, The Beautiful Match Soup, Eight-Treasure Fat Duck, and Beggar's Chicken; as well as selections from "The Book and the Sword" like Osmanthus White Fungus with Lily Bulbs and Sweet Sticky Rice Stuffed Lotus Root.

Additionally, the hotel has invited renowned xiangsheng (crosstalk) artist and leader of the Pingxiang Wushe troupe, Feng Yigang, to host a Jin Yong storytelling banquet on September 2. Each seat costs NT$1,680 + 10%, combining classic scenes from the novels with gourmet dining.
