The Louvre Pyramid is on many people’s lifelong travel bucket list, but if you can’t make it that far, there are actually two right here in Taipei’s Expo Park. These pyramids are built with glass curtain walls that shimmer with light, creating a modern yet elegant atmosphere. In addition, Expo Park lies directly in the flight path of planes landing at Songshan Airport — the dramatic sight of jets roaring overhead is visually striking and has been captured by keen-eyed internet users.

The two glass pyramids are located in the “Art Zone” of the Expo Park, standing one behind the other along an elevated walkway — large and small. Constructed with glass curtains and aqua-blue steel frames, they form perfect isosceles triangle structures. As sunlight refracts through them, the pyramids emit a soft blue glow, which, together with the blue sky, white clouds, and green lawns, makes every photo look dreamy, as if you’re abroad.

These glass pyramids were actually built during the Taipei Expo, and notably,the elevated walkway leading to the pyramids is currently under construction due to falling tiles. Director Lin from the Taipei City Government Public Works Bureau Parks Division stated that the project is expected to continue until September. For now, visitors can only take photos of the glass pyramids from below.

After snapping photos of the glass pyramids, if you’re interested in close-up plane shots, Director Lin also recommends heading east — the “Xinsheng Area” of Expo Park offers the most thrilling views of jets roaring past.
