The travel alert level for all of Australia has been raised to "yellow."

On the 22nd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs raised the travel alert level for all of Australia to "yellow," urging nationals traveling or conducting business in Australia to pay special attention to travel safety.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that on September 12, the Australian government announced an upgrade of the National Terrorism Public Alert from "medium" to "high," meaning that "a terrorist attack is likely."

It is understood,that this alert level adjustment is not due to the Australian government having specific information about a planned terrorist attack, but rather because there has been a recent increase in the number of Australians found to be involved with international terrorist organizations, which may correspondingly raise the security threats to Australia.. The increase in the terrorism alert level is intended to urge the public to stay vigilant and to report any suspicious security threats at any time.
