Attention all Rilakkuma fans!* Following the Rilakkuma-themed cafés in Taipei and Taichung, Taiwan’s very first Rilakkuma tearoom is set to open on July 21. The entire tearoom is infused with a rich Japanese aesthetic, and there’s even an adorable Rilakkuma plush sitting on the engawa (veranda) by the entrance. The menu complements the tearoom’s theme, offering classic Japanese dishes such as three-color hanami dango, ochazuke (tea-over-rice), donburi sets, and matcha. Among them is an especially cute matcha-themed mizuyokan shaped like Rilakkuma.

The entrance of Rilakkuma Tearoom features large plush figures of Rilakkuma, Kiiroitori, and a chick enjoying a meal together. The black tiled roof paired with Rilakkuma-patterned window grilles makes the overall visual almost identical to the Rilakkuma Tea House branding. The takeout area on the left is adorned with wish cards left by previous guests. Inside, the seating is thoughtfully designed in three different styles: besides standard two- and four-person tables, there are also single seats and two distinct themed tatami rooms—perfect for gatherings with friends or family meals.

Rilakkuma Tearoom serves Japanese breakfast sets daily starting at 9 AM, along with a wide variety of traditional Japanese dishes—from specialty washoku donburi sets and ochazuke, to cold noodles and fried skewers. There are also sweet treats and drinks beloved by girls, such as matcha desserts (like matcha mille crepes) and mochi. All tea-based items at Rilakkuma Tearoom use matcha from Satoen in Shizuoka, Japan.
Additionally, the famed Japanese mizuyokan is available here too—but in the adorable shape of Rilakkuma. It turns out the owner, Morie, who is also a huge Rilakkuma fan, had long wanted to turn Rilakkuma into a transparent mizuyokan.

Launching its third themed restaurant with a tearoom concept, Morie shared that it took eight months of planning. Aside from the exterior design, the head chef was specially recruited from a five-star hotel kitchen team, aiming to not only provide a healing experience for fans but also serve delicious food.
Currently, the tearoom does not accept reservations; walk-ins only. Minimum spend is NT$200.
