Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival Opens on October 11 – 100 Bowls of Champion Beef Noodles Given Away on Opening Day

The Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival is here once more this year, scheduled for October 11 to 12 at the Exhibition Hall of the Taipei Expo Park’s Yuanshan Park. In addition to selling various styles of beef noodles including braised, stewed, tomato-based, and international flavors, there will also be the “Chef Battle Competition” for the senior group and the finals for the braised, stewed, and creative categories. The organizers will also prepare 100 free bowls of champion beef noodles to give away to the public on the opening day.

The event site of the “2014 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival” is divided into five major themed activity zones: the Good Deals Zone, the Art & Culture Zone, the Food Zone, the Competition Zone, and the Stage Performance Zone. In addition to selling various styles of beef noodles such as braised, stewed, tomato-based, and international flavors, the festival has also invited past champion chefs to return and prepare their award-winning beef noodles for domestic and international consumers to taste and experience.

The “Chef Battle Competition,” which is always highly anticipated by beef noodle restaurateurs and chefs, will see a total of 30 teams competing on October 11 and 12 for the championship title of the “2014 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival.” As for the “International Chefs Invitational,” seven past champions of the Chef Battle Competition will compete against ten renowned chefs from the United States, China, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macau, vying for the gold medal under international competition standards.

The carnival has always been the highlight of the beef noodle festival. This year, there will be 45 vendors offering a variety of champion, homemade, and international-style beef noodles for everyone to choose from and enjoy, including a “1 bowl for 50 NT$ super-value beef noodle” section.
