Super cute 1,600 paper teddy bears take over Pingtung County Stadium Park!“2014 Pingtung Cycling National Highway Flower Season – Autumn Getaway” event kicks off on the 27th and 28th at Pingtung County Stadium Park. The Pingtung County Government has specially invited an army of 1,600 paper teddy bears and 200 Formosan black bears to “visit” Pingtung, attracting crowds eager to take photos with the adorable bear brigade.

Pingtung County has linked the Jiuru Orchid Fern Bicycle Path, Changzhi-Linluo Section, and Zhutian Star Section, aiming to create a cycling national highway. To encourage people to get outdoors, paper teddy bears were specially invited to “visit” Pingtung. The event area mainly covers the County Stadium Park and Zhutian Star, where 1,600 teddy bears and 200 black bears cutely occupy the park entrance. Many visitors flocked in early in the morning. The organizers thoughtfully set up a “Hug-a-Bear Zone” to fulfill the wishes of both kids and adults to get close to the bears.

The event also features a green industry market, with over 60 booths showcasing Hakka and indigenous products, as well as a “Bears on a Mission” stamp rally, a “Paper Teddy Bear Adoption and Cultural Creative Goods Zone.” The organizers also provide bicycle rental services at the Stadium Park, Zhutian Star section, Dada Port Restaurant, and Youyuan Eco Park, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding areas with ease. In addition to the bear brigade continuing to keep everyone company, there will be an unplugged stage performance on the afternoon of the 28th.
