Oguraya starts selling eel bento boxes – Buy one get one free on Unagi Don (grilled eel box) during Doyo no Ushi no Hi

The eel specialty store Oguraya has officially entered the takeout food market, now offering “eel set bento boxes.” Coinciding with the upcoming Doyo no Ushi no Hi (Midsummer Day of the Ox), Oguraya is also launching its Summer Eel Festival. On both Doyo no Ushi no Hi dates—July 25 and August 6—buying the Unagi Don “Take” bento will come with a buy one get one free offer, limited to 100 per day.

Oguraya’s eel set bento boxes—including Unagi Don, Unagi Mushimono (steamed eel), and Unagi Kabuto (eel helmet box)—are all available for takeout in bento form, each served with soup, pickles, and a small bottle of teriyaki sauce. In addition to the buy one get one free offer on Doyo no Ushi no Hi, from July 25 to August 6, customers ordering or taking out any eel set meal can enjoy an instant upgrade. For example, purchasing the “Plum” (small) set meal will automatically be upgraded to the “Bamboo” (medium) set at the original price, and the portion of Unagi Kabuto will include two extra slices.
