Guam Shopping Festival kicks off in November, spanning Christmas and New Year

The Guam Shopping Festival will run from November 1, 2014, to January 12, 2015. In addition to the year’s biggest discounts at various shopping malls, the Guam Visitors Bureau has consolidated special offers and perks exclusively for overseas travelers across the island. By taking full advantage of these deals, visitors can not only save money but also earn rewards, with an expected influx of over 270,000 inbound tourists.

The Guam Visitors Bureau has extended this shopping festival to nearly two and a half months, integrating discount information from shops all over the island and compiling coupons from various merchants into a handy booklet for tourists. Aside from discount details, travelers with internet-enabled smartphones can scan QR codes to be directed to store locations. Additionally, an event app will be made available for download this year, allowing visitors to easily carry coupons and the latest discount information on their mobile devices.

This year’s discounts span a wide range—from luxury goods to everyday necessities, and from gourmet dining to attraction activities—offering plenty of great deals. For example, at Lotte Duty Free, spend over $100 and get $10 back, plus you can exchange for a free “I Love Guam” cup; at Wendy’s, order a combo meal and get 6 chicken nuggets for free, while Taco Bell offers a buy-one-get-one-free deal on Beef Taco Supreme. Under Water World, ideal for family trips, buy two tickets and get two Sea Trek towels and one photo for free.
