The Money-Biting Tiger in Thailand is a blessed item from the renowned Tiger Temple, Wat Luang Phor Pern. Initially, it was a thank-you gift from the temple to those who contributed funds for its building or supported the monks, wishing for their health, freedom from illness, protection in conflict, and overall safety. It has gradually become an amulet made by the temple to attract wealth, provide protection, deflect negative energy, enhance authority and confidence, and smooth your career path.

From my experience of bringing back Money-Biting Tigers for friends twice now, the first batch numbered nearly a hundred, and the second over two hundred—most of the second batch buyers had already gained financially from the first ones they bought and wanted to get more for friends. (Amazing, right?) As for the taboos surrounding the Money-Biting Tiger bracelet, contrary to popular belief that you can’t wear it during sex, during menstruation, or on your right hand, I asked the abbot of Wat Luang Phor Pern, who clarified that there are no such restrictions—it’s actually one of the least restricted blessed items.

Just a Few Things to Keep in Mind

(1).Don’t wear it together with other sacred animal amulets, because the tiger is rather fierce—after all, there’s a saying “two tigers can’t share one mountain,” so limit it to one per hand. There are no issues wearing it with non-sacred animal amulets.

(2) The tiger head must face outward so it can bite money in from the outside. If worn backward, it won’t work.

(3)Do not use the bracelet as a necklace or ankle bracelet, nor as a hanging ornament—that would be highly disrespectful.

(4) When not wearing it, store it in a high place. The family altar is ideal; if unavailable, a bookshelf or cabinet will do—just place it in a clean box and keep it above heart level.

(5) Most importantly, it’s best to return to Wat Luang Phor Pern annually to undergo a re-empowerment and chanting ritual to maintain the spiritual power of the amulet. If returning to Thailand isn’t possible, it’s recommended to buy a new one; the old one should be stored according to rule four.

(6) If the bracelet is damaged or replaced, make sure to get it re-empowered within a year to ensure full and comprehensive protection.

(7).Do not lend it to others to wear, as the sacred beast chooses its owner—though being touched by others is fine.

(8) Any zodiac sign can wear it, and people of other religions can too. Thai amulets are inclusive with no such restrictions.

(9) It’s best to take it off when showering to avoid water exposure, which can accelerate oxidation.

(10) When you first receive it, introduce yourself to the Money-Biting Tiger to speed up the bonding process—you’re now its owner, and it’s time to ask for its help.

(11) If you feel dizzy, have strange dreams, or feel unwell when wearing it, don’t worry—it’s normal and means the tiger is adjusting to you. Talk to it gently and ask it to protect you properly. If discomfort persists, try wearing it just one hour a day and gradually increase the time until you and the tiger reach harmony.
