AKB48 to Visit Taiwan This Month for Fan Meet  Organizers: Members Will Appear in Airline Uniforms

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has teamed up with Japanese idol group AKB48 to hold a fan meeting in Taiwan on October 15. The AKB48 members will dress up as ANA flight attendants for the event, meeting fans in Taiwan, and online registration will open on October 6.

Yan Xiuwei, Sales Department Manager at ANA’s Taipei Branch, said that ANA is the official airline partner of AKB48 and strongly supports young people striving toward their goals. In the past, the two have held “ANA X AKB48 Challenge for Asia” fan meetings in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This time, the event will move to Taipei on October 15, with the venue set at att Show Box.

At the previous fan meeting in Shanghai, members including Kitahara Rie, Takahashi Juri, as well as members from SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, JKT48, and SNH48 were present. Although the full list of attendees and specific details for the Taiwan event will not be officially announced until October 6, Yan Xiuwei revealed that three popular AKB48 members will wear ANA flight attendant uniforms for this event, allowing fans to see a different side of the group.

Yan Xiuwei stated that once online registration officially opens on October 6, passengers who have flown with ANA during a specified period will be given priority to register online. Other fans can also attend the event on the day by purchasing souvenirs and tickets.
