Taipei's Shuangxi Park is hosting the "2017 Giant Water Lily Magical Floating" exhibition, running from August 9 to September 15, 2017. Featuring the giant water lily and lotus as the main attractions, this month-long exhibition offers 400 spots across 8 sessions for the public to experience the magical floating ride on the giant water lily. Online registration begins on August 9.

Hei Chi-hwa, director of the Garden Management Section of the Parks and Street Lights Office, said that the first "Panda Lightness on Water—Giant Water Lily Appears at Shuangxi Park" event in 2013 and the follow-up "2014 Shuangxi Park Aquatic Plant Exhibition" in 2014 received an enthusiastic response and were deeply loved by citizens. This year, eight free riding sessions are specially planned for August 12, August 13, August 19, and August 20 (one session each in the morning and afternoon), with a limit of 50 people per session, totaling 400 spots. Online registration for the free giant water lily riding experience starts on August 9, 2017, inviting everyone to come and experience the magical floating.

The magnificent sight of giant water lilies and lotuses filling the pond at Shuangxi Park has also attracted many photography enthusiasts to capture these stunning scenes. This event also features a photography competition, with the theme centered around the Chinese garden style of Shuangxi Park paired with giant water lilies and various colored lotuses, showcasing the park's unique features and ecological beauty. The top prize is a voucher worth NT$5,000. Photography enthusiasts are invited to join in and capture the most beautiful memories of Shuangxi Park.
