Surge in visitors！Chiayi’s Zhushan “Sky Corridor” implements crowd control with a limit of 150 people per entry

The newly opened Zhushan Park in July, featuring the “Fairy Trail” that resembles an ecological classroom and the thrilling “Sky Corridor” offering a breathtaking high-altitude view, has attracted a growing number of visitors. However, the influx has also led to issues such as pedestrian-vehicle conflicts and insufficient parking spaces.

Due to overwhelming crowds recently causing frequent overcrowding on the trails and the Sky Corridor, the park has decided to implement crowd control measures. The Sky Corridor will be limited to 150 visitors at a time, with manual headcounts managed by Zhushan Township Office. To address the shortage of restrooms, 10 temporary toilets will be set up in the park, along with signage to guide visitors.

Additionally, many visitors have reported that some locals, familiar with the area, often drive from Zhushan Station at the back of the park directly into the premises, weaving through the crowds and forcing pedestrians to dodge vehicles — a dangerous situation. Zhushan Township Office has also indicated that traffic control measures may be implemented at the intersection near Zhushan Station during weekends and holidays to ensure visitor safety.

Located beside the Zhushan Bridge on Provincial Highway 3 and adjacent to the Niuchou River, Zhushan Park covers nearly 12 hectares. It has recently become a popular tourist destination in Chiayi, thanks to its 400-meter-long barrier-free “Fairy Trail” and the 185-meter-long “Sky Corridor,” which is suspended about five stories above the ground.
