Last updated 2026-09-25 — Every time I visit Fengjia Night Market in Taichung, I discover something new. Golden Left Leg and Golden Right Leg are actually run by the same owner—one focuses on grilled items, the other on fried ones. Pig Light Treasure is also operated by the same person. This boss is truly creative; Golden Right Leg was super popular before too. This time, I tried Golden Left Leg and loved it—the crispy yet non-greasy texture, paired with special sauces and salad, and the portion looks super generous. One serving is probably enough for a girl. Plus, this Golden Left Leg spot is very easy to find—it’s right at the small stall in front of Global Village Japanese Language School on Fuxing Road.

Every time I visit Fengjia Night Market in Taichung, I discover something new.

There’s parking available on Fuxing Road, and not far from the parking lot you’ll see Global Village Japanese Language School. One of the small stalls in front is Golden Left Leg.

It’s really eye-catching and super easy to find.

Look left for golden deliciousness... and there's even a cute chibi-style chicken. How unique is that? I love their mascot – it’s super adorable. Feels like a bold, edgy, gangster-style rooster.

There are five different sauces: Thai sweet chili, tarragon, lobster mentaiko, honey mustard, and double cheese. They even have models displayed in front of the stall—how many food stalls do you know that go this pro with models?

Lobster mentaiko sauce—they really use quality ingredients. The sauce looks thick and delicious.

Tarragon sauce—we had the tarragon one. It’s sweet, fragrant, and rich.

Thai sweet chili sauce—this one’s genuinely Thai, with a spicy and sour kick that’s so satisfying.

Honey mustard sauce—this is the most common one. It’s also the flavor most people can easily enjoy.

Double cheese sauce—so cool. Cheese lovers are going to adore this.

Mexican spicy salsa—if you want more heat, you can add this extra hot sauce. We didn’t try it, so we can’t say how it tastes.

The boss is frying our Bombed Chicken Leg King. It’s made with marinated chicken thigh meat, coated in a special batter, then deep-fried. The oil looks very clean too.

Bombed Chicken Leg King, 70 NT—super crispy when fried. When the boss was cutting it, I could hear that crunch. I quickly snapped a photo before adding any sauce, because once it’s sauced, it doesn’t look as crispy.

The coating is made with flour and breadcrumbs—it looks crispy but isn’t greasy, and the chicken is juicy and tender.

Add some tarragon sauce and lettuce, and it looks super hearty.

With the sauce, the crust gets a bit soft, but you get the aroma of the tarragon sauce and a more layered taste.

Shrimp Prince, 70 NT—essentially, it’s a money shrimp pancake. But this one’s handmade and bursts with juice. The pancake is thick, springy, and really does squirt juice. So good. Crispy outside, bouncy and juicy inside—delicious.

Add some green papaya shreds, and it really cuts through the richness.
Sweet, sour, and crispy—it’s refreshing and amazing. The two of us finished it all right there on the street.

Just like that, standing on the sidewalk, we polished off the Bombed Chicken Leg King and Shrimp Prince without even realizing it. XD So tasty. Crispy and non-greasy, the sauces are unique—perfect for spice lovers. When you’re at Fengjia Night Market, don’t forget to swing by Fuxing Road to try Golden Left Leg—and do a little shopping while you’re at it.
