As Qixi Festival approaches, the Sanxing Township Office in Yilan has decorated the banks of the Anrong River with 5,000 vibrant small umbrellas, painted the bridge crossing the Anrong River in pinkish-purple, and added nighttime lighting to create a romantic atmosphere, making it a must-visit dating spot in Yilan this Qixi.

This year, the Sanxing Township Office painted the bridge in romantic pastel colors. Against the backdrop of 5,000 colorful umbrellas from the Sanxing Rice Fragrance Festival and colorful lights, a dazzling “umbrella-bright” Magpie Bridge now spans the Anrong River. The hope is that with the blessing of the Magpie Bridge, every couple’s bond will grow even stronger.

In addition, the township office will hold the “2017 Love at Qixi – Romantic Sanxing, Don’t Miss It” event from 6 to 9 p.m. on the 28th at the downstream Dazhou Flood Diversion Weir Arch Bridge. The event will feature song dedications, love confessions, and more. Participants must pre-select a song (one per person) and write a love message of no more than 100 words. The township office will select 10 entries, and singers will perform the love songs and read the confessions for couples, giving them a sweet surprise.
