National sweetheart Dears to join in – Yancheng Road Race kicks off on November 15!

The first-ever Yancheng road race event in the country, the “2014 Tainan Jingzai Ironfoot Marathon,” will start on November 15th. Along the route, participants can experience the rustic charm of fishing villages and admire large flocks of northern migratory birds such as black-faced spoonbills and black-tailed gulls. Participants also have the chance to take home a generous prize package worth a total of NT$200,000. The all-girl group Dears, composed of Dewi Chien Ting-Ruey and Dabe An-Jie-Shi (Little An), will also take part in the Jingzai Ironfoot Marathon and invite their fans to run alongside them!

Zheng Rong, Director of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Coastal National Scenic Area Administration, said that the area not only boasts unspoiled coastal landscapes and the beautiful scenery of the sea, but also features historic tile solar salt fields and the rustic charm of fishing villages, earning it the reputation of a “salt town.” The goal is to make Beimen Township a wedding photography destination, centered around the Beimen Visitor Center.

The “2014 Tainan Jingzai Ironfoot Marathon” is divided into a full marathon (42 km), a half marathon (21 km), and an 8 km bird-watching and salt-treading group. Those who register for the full and half marathon groups will receive event gifts worth NT$1,680, such as stylish split-toe shoes and urban backpacks. In addition, participants can enter a lucky draw to win a range of prizes worth a total of NT$200,000, including new motorcycles and bicycles. The registration deadline is midnight on October 24th, or earlier if the quota is filled.
