A global online vote for the “most enchanting bridges” initiated by the foreign website “Bored Panda” has seen Taiwan’s Neihu District Dahu Park Rainbow Bridge not only make the list but also temporarily take the top spot(Click to see the original photo). The photo of Dahu Park’s Rainbow Bridge selected by theboredpandawebsite resembles an ink-wash landscape painting and has previously been reported by two major mainstream media outlets: the London Daily Mail and France’s Le Monde.(Updated 10/21: Dahu Park’s Rainbow Bridge in Taiwan’s Neihu District has been removed from the vote, possibly because the photo was repeatedly questioned as fake every time it appeared in the media. The photographer subsequently requested its removal from the site.)

The photographer also said that the photo had appeared in the media two years ago, and at the time, he just wanted to share it with friends. He never expected it to be repeatedly misused, questioned as fake every time it was published, and dragged through the mud again — which he felt was nothing short of humiliating.
So did the photographer delete the photo?

The current top three rankings are Dahu Park’s Rainbow Bridge in Neihu, Germany’s Rakotzbrücke, and Bulgaria’s Devil’s Bridge in the Rhodope Mountains. Other bridges within the top 20 include the “Glenfinnan Viaduct” featured in the movie “Harry Potter” (ranked 9th), the Xianguan Bridge on Huangshan, known as the “Number One Fantastic Mountain Under Heaven” (ranked 5th), and the winding Spanish Gaztelugatxe Bridge (ranked 13th). As the vote is still ongoing, rankings may still change.

As for the photo that helped Dahu Park’s Rainbow Bridge take the top spot, it was taken by user bbe022001(click to view his online album), who captured it on a foggy morning in Dahu Park, Neihu. Because it was shot against the light, the colors were washed out, appearing in dark gray tones that made it look like a landscape painting.
