Several times while driving past this place, whether on weekdays or during meal hours on weekends, the restaurant was always bustling with people. At that moment, I decided to add it to my must-visit list and planned to come try it when I had the chance. That opportunity ended up taking almost half a year to come along. We specifically chose a non-meal time on a weekday just to avoid the peak crowds. The first floor of the restaurant is a parking lot, the second floor is the dining area, and the third floor has banquet halls and private rooms. Just as you walk in, you’ll see a wall covered with celebrity autographs at the staircase — it seems this place is not only loved by the general public but also hard to resist for political figures, athletes, and celebrities alike.

▲ Actress Yoon Eun-hye, who starred in many beloved dramas

▲ SHINee’s Minho

▲ Actor Yoo Seung-ho, currently serving in the military

▲ MC Jung Joon-ha from Infinite Challenge

▲ South Korea’s first female president, Park Geun-hye, also dined here – total win (!!)

▲ The president’s handwritten signature

▲ The restaurant has large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing you to enjoy your meal with a view

▲ The bright interior and homey furnishings give off a cozy, relaxed vibe

▲ Even after meal hours, around 3 PM, there were still quite a few customers dining here

▲ The menu even includes Chinese, so visitors don’t have to worry about any language barriers

We ordered two servings of pork ribs (30,000 KRW) and one beef bone soup (10,000 KRW). One of the best things about Korean cuisine is the wide variety of side dishes. Beyond showcasing the restaurant’s sincerity, I think these sides are also one of the main draws — after all, no matter how delicious the main dish is, it feels like something’s missing without tasty sides.

▲ Seaweed salad

▲ Spicy radish

▲ Kumquat jam with garlic-soaked longan

▲ Salmon salad

▲ Spicy sauce lettuce

▲ Raw spicy crab

▲ A colorful assortment of sides including pumpkin salad, pancakes, and water kimchi

▲ Salad and green chili peppers for wrapping grilled meat

▲ Charcoal grilled until deep red

The pork ribs come in both pork and beef options, and there are three flavor choices: original, seasoned, and spicy — you can order based on your preference. I think those who’ve traveled to Korea may have seen the phrase “Ssamchi Bang-ui” (meaning “body and land are one”) around. This concept promotes the idea that people living on this land should eat what is grown or raised here. Because of this belief, Koreans generally prefer domestically produced foods, which are also more expensive than imports — especially Korean beef, which is considered a premium item.

▲ Pork ribs, with bones, marinated in a soy sauce and spice blend that gives them an appetizingly vibrant color.

▲ The pork ribs are grilled to a juicy and fragrant medium-well doneness, then served with a dipping sauce — refreshing and delicious.

▲ Since the ribs are marinated in sauce, the sauce can easily burn when placed on the charcoal grill, so it needs special attention during cooking. The slightly charred smokiness pairs perfectly with the sweet-salty sauce and tender pork, making it an ideal combination that satisfies even the most discerning palate.

In addition to its popular and delicious grilled pork ribs, another favorite dish at this restaurant is beef bone soup, where beef marrow bones are simmered for a long time to extract rich flavors, offering maximum nutrition and being one of Korea’s common restorative dishes.

▲ The thick and savory beef bone broth becomes even sweeter and more flavorful with the addition of vegetables.

▲ The beef bone soup also includes Korean herbal ingredients such as ginseng, goji berries, and pine nuts, yet it doesn’t have an overpowering medicinal taste. Instead, these additions enhance the aroma of the soup.

▲ Koreans often enjoy a cup of coffee after meals, and almost all restaurants are equipped with coffee machines. However, some offer it for free, while others charge around 100–200 KRW — it depends on the establishment.
