Thanks to their prime locations, many stunning Taiwanese sights are tucked away within school campuses. Located in Gongliao District, New Taipei City, “Fulian Elementary School” not only boasts a dreamy rainbow staircase but also hides a diving secret spot. With the school’s boundary wall offering an uninterrupted seascape, it feels as if you could reach out and touch the coastline. It’s no exaggeration to call it the most picturesque elementary school in northern Taiwan, making students who study here the envy of many.

Fulian Elementary School is located about a five-minute drive from the San Diego Cape Lighthouse, in Ma’ao Bay. Right next to the school is a natural seawater pool. It is also the easternmost and lowest-altitude school in all of Taiwan. However, thanks to the crystal-clear waters of Ma’ao Bay, every summer, many people come here to swim, and even bring their pets to enjoy the water. It is also considered a diving secret spot by many snorkeling enthusiasts.

Even if you’re not into swimming, the campus features a long row of rainbow staircases that shimmer brightly under the blue sky and sunlight. It’s the perfect vantage point to admire the endless sea view where the ocean meets the horizon. When it gets hot, you can take a dip to cool off, making it New Taipei City’s most delightful seaside playground.
