Japan Launches "First-Class" Capsule Hotel — Experience It for Less Than $40

The first-class cabin on a plane, resembling a small mobile hotel with its comfortable and spacious facilities, always tempts many travelers to take a flight at least once. Inspired by this concept, a Japanese hotel has created"First-Class Capsule Hotel First Cabin", which even offers a business class option for guests.

"First Cabin" varies in room count depending on the size of each branch. Unlike typical capsule rooms that resemble space pods, each first-class single room at "First Cabin" covers 4.4 square meters. In addition to a comfortable bed, each room is equipped with a 32-inch LCD TV, a small desk, storage space, power outlets, Wi-Fi, and more.

Business class rooms cover about 2.5 square meters. Though smaller in size and without a desk, they offer the same facilities as first-class rooms. To ensure guest safety, each room is accessed via a special keycard, and strict gender-segregated floors are enforced.

Additionally, guests staying for multiple consecutive days don’t need to check in and out daily. According to the official website policy, check-out is only required on the final day. However, the branch located in Terminal 1 of Haneda Airport does not accept multi-day stays.

Currently, "First Cabin" has five branches in Japan: Haneda Airport Terminal 1, Tokyo Akihabara, Kyoto Karasuma, Osaka Namba, and Fukuoka. With Japan securing the 2020 Olympics bid, "First Cabin" plans to expand its presence nationwide, aiming to reach 50 branches by 2020.
