Orchid Island’s Delicious “Sea Turtle Pancakes” – Limited Flavors Change Daily

These “sea turtles” are edible! In recent years, Orchid Island has actively promoted sea turtle conservation, and turtles are often spotted in its waters. A small stall on Minsheng Road also crafts lifelikeSea Turtle Pancakes.

Each serving of sea turtle pancakes comes with four little turtles, with a texture similar to American-style pancakes—hence the name “Sea turtle pancake.” These pancakes are chewy and firm, with a crispy exterior wrapping different flavored fillings.

Sea turtle pancakes come in three fixed flavors: chocolate, cheese, and milk custard. Additionally, a daily limited flavor is announced on the stall’s blackboard. Past flavors have included bubble tea and taro mochi, which were hugely popular—so much so that they sold out quickly, and customers had to return the next day to try them.

The stall owner is particularly eco-conscious and does not provide any plastic bags. Instead, the pancakes are packed in paper bags tied with brown twine—all environmentally friendly materials. The unique packaging is fun to carry and perfectly matches Orchid Island’s laid-back vibe.
