Major transformation at 228 Peace Park ! New fountain facilities & colorful water dance shows day and night

Taipei now has a romantic water dance show too ! Taiwan’s oldest urban park — 228 Peace Park — underwent facility upgrades and renovations this year . A brand-new water dance installation has been set up in the octagonal pavilion pond . After dark , the ever - changing LED lights in a spectrum of colors are projected onto the dynamic water fountains , dancing along with promotional songs from the Universiade , giving the traditional 228 Peace Park a fresh , modern image .

228 Peace Park has witnessed 133 years of history from the establishment of Taipei Prefecture during the Qing Dynasty to the present day . Throughout the park , historical relics from the Qing Dynasty , Japanese colonial period , and the Republican era can be found everywhere . Built upon the existing park infrastructure and taking into account the park’s original characteristics , the new facilities add diversified functions to attract more visitors , blending tradition with modernity in a mutually enhancing way .

The water dance facility in the octagonal pavilion pond of 228 Peace Park has now been completed . Until the end of August , it will be in its trial operation period , with one performance every hour from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily , each lasting 15 minutes . The schedule and frequency will be adjusted later depending on the situation .
