Tainan Clear-Braised Beef Festival Kicks Off with Scratch-Off Lottery Prizes for All

The “2014 Tainan Clear-Braised Beef Festival” officially kicked off on November 3rd. This event specially collaborates with 50 local shops. In addition to releasing an exclusive map of clear-braised beef eateries, it also launchesthe “Lucky Ox Scratch-Off Lottery”, aiming to attract more visitors to Tainan to personally experience its distinctive clear-braised beef.

Tainan City Mayor Lai Ching-te highly recommended Tainan’s clear-braised beef on his Facebook page as a “one-of-a-kind” cultural offering in Taiwan, attracting nearly 100,000 views from fans. He explained that the city’s clear-braised beef uses fresh, warm-body beef delivered directly from Shanhua in Tainan, and only 15% of each cow can be used for clear-braising. As such, authentic clear-braised beef can only be tasted in Tainan.

To further boost the event, the municipal government has introduced the “Lucky Ox Scratch-Off Lottery.” Consumers who spend over NT$300 between November 3rd and December 5th will receive a guaranteed-prize scratch-off ticket. Then, by visiting Yongkang Bridge Night Market to join the “2014 Tainan Clear-Braised Beef Festival” on December 6th, they can redeem a free bowl of beef soup and participate in the lucky draw.
