Taipei International Travel Fair to Kick Off – Overseas Trips for Under NT$10,000, Hong Kong for Less Than NT$5,000!

The year’s biggest travel fair, the “ITF Taipei International Travel Fair,” is set to open next week. The event organizer, the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan, held a promotional press conference this (29th) afternoon. Airlines and travel agencies alike have unveiled attractive deals to build up excitement ahead of the fair.Among the most anticipated offers for consumers are domestic travel packages starting at 19% of the original price, while international trips are available for under NT$10,000.

Lai Seh-chen, president of the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan, stated that the 22nd “ITF Taipei International Travel Fair,” themed “Love Travel Fun,” has reached a record scale, featuring participants from 60 countries and regions and 950 exhibitors. These include over 200 hotels, 97 travel agencies, and 15 airlines, showcasing a total of 1,450 booths across the first and second floors of Hall 1 and Hall 3 at the Taipei World Trade Center—100 more than last year—making it the largest in the event’s history.This year’s domestic travel deals start at 19% off. EasyCard Travel offers the “Jinshan Hot Springs Day Trip,” starting at just NT$199 per person. Chan Star Travel presents “2015 New Year’s Dawn at Alishan – Sleepless Night,” with a buy-one-get-one-free deal, starting at NT$3,499 per person. Meanwhile, Uni Air is offering the “East Rift Valley Farm Fun” two-day, one-night trip for groups of four, with each person paying just NT$3,799.

This year’s international travel deals also look promising, with several agencies offering overseas trips for under NT$10,000.Southeast Travel offers a four-day tour to Xiamen starting at NT$9,800, with the second person free—effectively NT$4,900 per person. For Hong Kong independent travel, Lion Travel offers a 3-day package for NT$4,900 (excluding tax), while Duoduo Travel provides a NT$4,799 deal plus a free MRT day pass and one internet/phone card per room. Korean travel agency BMW offers a 4-day trip to Jeju Island with access to five major theme parks, starting at NT$9,500. Ximei Travel presents a “Travel with the Stars” theme park trip, flying with Scoot for a 5+1-day package including taxes for just NT$95,000. Additionally, for unique experiences, Golden Show Travel is offering a 40-day around-the-world trip for NT$300,000, aiming to stand out with distinctive offerings.

On the airline front, EVA Air is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its 777-300ER flights by giving away one discounted ticket per day for flights from Taoyuan to Los Angeles—drawn separately in the morning and afternoon. Winners can purchase the ticket for NT$10,777. China Airlines is offering discounts of up to NT$2,000 on site for selected travel packages. TransAsia Airways is boosting sales through a NT$1 bidding event for Tokyo and Bangkok independent travel packages—both popular destinations among Taiwanese travelers. Hong Kong Airlines is offering round-trip tickets between Hong Kong and Taiwan starting at NT$2,222, and business class tickets starting at NT$6,666, with no restrictions on flight schedules.
