Construction begins on Taiwan's largest outlet park in central region; scheduled to open by end of 2018

The first development project by Mitsui Fudosan Group in Taiwan, MITSUI OUTLET PARK LINKOU, opened on January 27, 2016. The next plan is to expand into the Taichung Port area in central Taiwan with "MITSUI OUTLET PARK TAICHUNG PORT (Provisional Name)." A groundbreaking ceremony was held on August 21, with plans to open by the end of 2018. The park will be operated by the newly established "San-Zhong-Gang Outlet (Taiwan) Co., Ltd."

MITSUI OUTLET PARK TAICHUNG PORT (Provisional Name) is located in Wuchi District, Taichung City, approximately 22 kilometers from downtown Taichung and about 9 kilometers from Taichung Airport. The site covers an area of about 54,000 pyeong, with a building area of around 18,000 pyeong. The outlet park is expected to feature 160 internationally renowned luxury brands, Japanese brands, as well as popular dining establishments. It will also include leisure and entertainment facilities such as a seaside restaurant and a large observation Ferris wheel.

In addition to the groundbreaking of MITSUI OUTLET PARK TAICHUNG PORT (Provisional Name), Mitsui Fudosan Group’s first Mitsui Garden Hotel in Taiwan will be located in the city center of Taipei, near Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Station. It is scheduled to begin construction in early 2018 and open in 2020. The group’s first large-scale shopping mall in Taiwan, Lalaport, will be situated in Nangang, with construction expected to start around mid-2018 and opening planned for 2021.
