Haneda Airport’s “Edo Lane” bathed in autumn charm – Maple leaves showcase classic Japanese aesthetics

Located on the 4th floor of Haneda’s international terminal, “Edo Lane” is a shopping street modeled after the streetscape of the Edo period, combining food and retail. When night falls, lanterns lining the street are lit, adding a romantic glow to this classic old-world setting. The nostalgic atmosphere consistently draws crowds, and with the addition of maple leaf decorations, travelers feel as though they are enjoying the autumn foliage of the Edo era.

Nearby, a reproduction of Japan Bridge — a symbolic transportation hub of the Edo period — spans 25 meters. Its walls feature murals that recreate the prosperity of that era, infusing the modern terminal design with a touch of history. The unique blend of past and present creates an atmosphere that serves as the first stop for many travelers beginning their journey in Japan.
