Evergreen’s Last 747 Completes Mission and Retires – The “Queen of the Skies” Bids Farewell After 25 Glorious Years

Evergreen Airways’ Boeing 747-400 aircraft, after completing its final passenger flight today (21st) on the Hong Kong-Taipei BR892 route carrying 369 travelers back to Taiwan, officially retired from active service. Evergreen Aviation Chairman Lin Baoshui personally went to Taoyuan Airport to commend the crew of the retiring BR892 flight for their hard work and paid a final tribute to the 747-400 aircraft. To highlight the 747-400’s 25-year contribution, Evergreen Airways will hold a retirement ceremony at the third hangar of Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp. on August 24.

To commemorate the retirement of the 747-400 flight, Evergreen Airways specially set up a photo backdrop at the boarding gate of Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok Airport for passengers on this flight to take pictures. The in-flight meal also featured creative touches, including a “Farewell 747-400” nougat souvenir given with the meal.

After the final 747 aircraft arrived at Taoyuan Airport, a special water salute was arranged to pay tribute to the retiring flight. Additionally, beautifully designed retirement flight certificates were given to passengers on board to jointly witness this historic moment.
