Wunique Patisserie is still in its operational phase. I found out about this French patisserie through the SWEET大好き fan page. The shop is located in an alley behind the Far Eastern Plaza.

There isn’t even a signboard outside, making it very low-key. There are only three tables inside, so I had to wait a bit for a seat.

Arriving early means more complete dessert options.

Considering the pricing of French pastries, Wunique Patisserie’s prices are mid-range.

Currently in the soft opening phase, hot tea is provided by the shop, but it’s uncertain whether drinks will be offered later. I ordered three desserts in total: a lemon tart for $120, a canelé for $40, and a thousand-layer pie for $160, totaling $320 — not too expensive.

What attracted me this time was the thousand-layer pie. Almost every table (and takeout customer) ordered one. Since I love lemon tarts, I always try one at a new patisserie.

That day, the thousand-layer pie came in original and caramel flavors. I chose the caramel one. I really like Wunique’s puff pastry — you can clearly see the layers. It’s very crispy with a slight toasty aroma. The pastry was so impressive that the caramel custard filling seemed a bit less prominent in comparison.

Eating thousand-layer pie is always a bit messy, and this time was no exception.

I overheard the staff telling customers that the lemon tart is their signature item, but honestly, it wasn’t to my taste — the lemon filling flavor isn’t what I prefer. As for the canelé, I really liked it.
