The 2014 “TOYOTA Family Day” nationwide tour has officially kicked off with five events across Taiwan. The first event took place on October 26 at Taipei’s Daonan Riverside Park, attracting tens of thousands of car enthusiasts and members of the public to join in this healthy, energetic, and meaningful walkathon. The most anticipated prize draw for the brand-new All New Yaris was won by a lucky young woman.

To promote nationwide health and fitness, TOYOTA has been organizing walkathons in collaboration with government agencies, civic groups, and the Hotai Group since 2005, receiving widespread support and positive feedback from the public. For the 2014 TOYOTA Family Day, five scenic, ecologically rich walking routes suitable for family outings have been specially planned to continue advocating for healthy and meaningful activities.

In line with TOYOTA’s philosophy of giving back to society, Hotai Motor donated NT$1 million to the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families during the Taipei event of “TOYOTA Family Day,” and also invited children from local family service centers to participate in the various activities.

The first event on October 26 was jointly organized by Kokusai Motor and Hokuju Motor. A total of 9,730 people entered Taipei Zoo to take part in the walkathon, creating a lively atmosphere.

In addition to booths and stage performances, the highlight of the event was the draw for the brand-new All New Yaris car. The lucky winner, a woman, shared that her company organizes annual group participation in Family Day, and she was thrilled to win the grand prize. From that day on, she happily became part of the TOYOTA family.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of “TOYOTA Family Day,” the five nationwide events included a series of special activities such as “TOYOTA Aerobic Warm-Up” to get everyone ready for the walk, a decade-themed bubble show and exclusive balloon performances, as well as a special ten-year anniversary dance choreographed by the MOMO Family for TOYOTA.

Following the Taipei and Taoyuan-Miaoli events, the “2014 TOYOTA Family Day” events in Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Central Taiwan will soon be held. Currently, only the Tainan event still has available spots. [Kokusai X Hokuju Auto – Daonan Riverside Park & Taipei Zoo]

Taipei’s Daonan Riverside Park is adjacent to Taipei Zoo. The riverside park boasts vast grounds with numerous sports facilities. Taipei Zoo is Taiwan’s most comprehensive animal museum, featuring eight outdoor exhibition areas, six indoor exhibition halls, and five environmental education sites, ranking among Asia’s top ten urban zoos.

Shimen Reservoir boasts Taiwan's largest earth-rock dam, and the spectacular sight of water being released through the spillway has become a must-see for visitors to the reservoir. Within the park, visitors can take a boat tour and enjoy numerous shaded recreational areas, including the dam, spillway, plum garden, viewing platform, lake pier, Xizhou Park, maple forest park, privet forest park, koelreuteria forest park, and the colorful fountain.

Tunghai University is one of Taiwan’s most architecturally significant universities, home to the Luce Memorial Chapel designed by the renowned architect I.M. Pei. Wushantou Reservoir is the largest reservoir in Taiwan, designed and built by Yoichi Hatta. Chengcing Lake Scenic Area features several famous attractions, the most well-known being the Zigzag Bridge, Zhongxing Tower, and Niaosong Wetland Park.
