Bikini Airline is here！ Vietjet to launch flights in December with 50% lower fares and free tickets

The low-cost carrier Vietjet, nicknamed the "Bikini Airline" for frequently using bikini-clad flight attendants to generate buzz, is set to officially launch its Taipei–Ho Chi Minh City route on December 12 this year. In addition to giving away 3,500 free tickets in the first wave, it will also offer promotional one-way fares at NT$323. The basic round-trip fare including taxes and fees of around NT$5,000 is nearly 50% cheaper than traditional airlines.

Vietjet plans to operate five round-trip flights per week in the initial phase of its launch, flying every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The one-way flight duration is 3 hours and 25 minutes, with departures from Taipei at 20:00 (Taiwan Time) and arrivals in Ho Chi Minh City at 22:25 (Vietnam Time). Return flights depart at 14:30 (Vietnam Time) and arrive at 18:55 (Taiwan Time).

According to Vietjet, it currently operates 20 domestic destinations in Vietnam and 7 international destinations, including Thailand, South Korea, and others. Taipei will be Vietjet’s 28th destination, with plans to launch flights to Kaohsiung and Taichung in the future.

Vietjet noted that tickets are categorized based on differences such as checked baggage allowance, date changes, name changes, access to airport lounges, and seat selection.These are divided intoPRO, ECO, and SkyBoss tiers, with the lowest normal round-trip fare for Taipei–Ho Chi Minh City being approximately NT$5,000 (including taxes and fees), allowing passengers to choose according to their needs.

To celebrate the launch in Taiwan, Vietjet is also giving away 3,500 free tickets onlinefrom November 11 to 13.Additionally, it will introducediscounted ticket types with one-way fares at NT$323.On December 24, a special flight with “all passengers completely free”will be offered for Vietnamese residents in Taiwan, allowing Vietnamese brides and their families to return home for the holidays.

Vietjet Deputy General Manager Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh stated that Vietjet focuses on providing passengers with safe, fun, affordable, and punctual flights. In addition to the basic fare being about 50% cheaper than traditional airlines, the upgraded SkyBoss ticket tier is also 50–70% of the price of business class on traditional airlines.The nine types of hot meals available on board are also priced under US$5,making them easy for passengers to enjoy.

Vietjet has long been known for various flight attendant flash mob activities on board, including bikini shows and costume performances, earning it the nickname "Bikini Airline" from many netizens. Vietjet Business Development Manager Lin Yihuang also mentioned that since the route is to beach resort destinations, flight attendants will wear bikinis to enhance the vacation vibe. To entertain passengers on board, the airline will alsoprovidemysterious in-flight performances for the Taiwan route.Regarding the "Vietjet bikini flight attendant hot photos" that went viral online, Lin Yihuang also said they will soon have the opportunity to be officially unveiled.
