Taichung’s “Xinshe Flower Sea” Opens on November 8th – Shuttle Buses Available on Weekdays and Holidays

The 2014 Taichung Xinshe Flower Sea Festival and International Flower Carpet Festival will open on November 8th and are expected to run until December 7th. This year’s flower sea area covers nearly 35 hectares and is divided into two main themes: the “Broadcasting Landscape Green Manure Area” and the “Landscape Flowering Plant Area.” Although the official opening is on the 8th, nearly 30,000 visitors couldn’t wait and flocked to Xinshe last Sunday (the 2nd).

This year’s flower sea area spans nearly 35 hectares and is divided into two main themes: the “Broadcasting Landscape Green Manure Area” and the “Landscape Flowering Plant Area.” The “Broadcasting Landscape Green Manure Area” features green manure crops such as sunn hemp, sunflowers, and rapeseed, creating a dazzling golden farmland landscape, along with an anticipated area of swaying cosmos. The “Landscape Flowering Plant Area” plants a variety of flowering plants in geometric patterns, using contrasts in depth and height to highlight a vibrant and colorful palette. Meandering pathways wind through the area, allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of the flower sea from multiple perspectives.

As the flower sea festival attracts large crowds of flower enthusiasts every year, in addition to strengthening traffic guidance and vehicle control, the organizers also encourage the use of public transportation. During holidays, there are three shuttle bus stops available at Taiyuan Parking Lot, Fengyuan Railway Station, and Dongshi Riverside Park. The Taiyuan Parking Lot also provides shuttle services on weekdays.
