The Zhongzheng Lake loop trail in Meinong is completed; it takes about 1 hour to walk around the entire lake

The loop project around the renowned Zhongzheng Lake in Meinong, Kaohsiung, was completed and opened to the public on the 10th. In the past, people could only walk around half the lake, but now they can complete the full circle around the 29.4-hectare Zhongzheng Lake on foot or by bike, enjoying the beautiful Hakka heritage and lake scenery.

The Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau stated that the project connects the entire lakeside walking and cycling paths, with the walking trail spanning approximately 3.6 kilometers, which takes about 1 hour to complete on foot. Cyclists can also link up with other local attractions such as the Meinong Yong’an Old Street and the Meinong Folk Village. From October to March each year, a large number of migratory birds winter around Zhongzheng Lake. The lake not only holds significant value for tourism but also plays an essential role in the local ecosystem.
