The "Cat Information Station" in Houtong officially opens, featuring cat passageways and catwalks

The "Cat Information Station," renovated from an old TRA dormitory at Houtong Station, officially opened on the 8th. The exterior wall features a whimsical illustration mural of cats designed by illustrator Cat Little P. Both the exterior walls and interior spaces include cat walkways and catwalks, allowing the cats to move about and play freely. Outdoor sinks and feline water stations enable visitors to observe the cats up close, learn about their habits, and gain many rare and valuable experiences.

The New Taipei City Government stated that to promote proper feeding and conservation concepts among the many visitors to Houtong and revitalize underused spaces, the Cat Information Station is staffed by volunteers from the Animal Protection Office. The first floor serves as a consultation service center, offering answers and information on various animal protection issues and concepts. The second floor functions as a screening room or classroom, where animal protection educational videos are shown irregularly and related courses are provided, aiming to help everyone learn more accurate animal protection knowledge.
