Experience the ultimate contrast: ski in China's northeast provinces and then unwind in hot springs for the ultimate thrill

In recent years, skiing trips have become one of the main winter travel options on the Chinese mainland. Therefore, at this year’s Cross-Strait Taipei Travel Fair, several provinces in northeastern China not only shared the latest travel information with the public but also introduced many tour packages that combine skiing with hot springs and snow appreciation.

Liaoning Province’s exhibition booth this year was themed“Enjoy Liaoning. A Trip Worth Taking”to promote diverse travel experiences. Hao Chunrong, president of the Liaoning Provincial Tourism Association, also emphasized that there are direct flights from Taiwan to both Shenyang and Dalian, and that ski resorts around Shenyang are located at lower latitudes, allowing visitors to enjoy skiing without enduring extremely cold conditions.

Jilin Province, which promotes “Snowy Changbai Mountain” as its biggest highlight, boasts abundant snow resources on Changbai Mountain. This year, the Changbai Mountain Management Committee also introduced a promotion where visitors can ascend both slopes of Changbai Mountain for the price of one, allowing tourists to enjoy the mountain’s beauty from different perspectives. Lin Tian, deputy director of the Jilin Provincial Tourism Bureau, also mentioned that Jilin offers a wide selection of ski resorts, with skiing available at Changbai Mountain, Jingyue Pool, and Songhua Lake, among other places. The province also features unique winter attractions such as rime ice, ice-breaking fishing, and ice waterfalls.
