This time, DaKou is taking everyone to conquer the castle of the aliens, lol—actually, it’s the Taichung flagship store of the “a la sha cafe,” opened by the well-known girls’ fashion brand a la sha, famous for its alien imagery. The flagship store that combines fashion and dining is located at the intersection of Wuchang Fifth Street and Wuchang West Fourth Street on Taichung’s Art & Culture Boulevard. It’s a blue-and-white Mediterranean-style castle, which is basically a super cute paradise created by a la sha. Every corner here is decorated super adorably, and you’ll often see A-Cai and other members of the alien family hiding around, making people want to take photos nonstop. Besides, the food here is surprisingly delicious, and the prices are unexpectedly reasonable. Combining alien-themed merchandise with creative dishes, it creates a beautiful, tasty, and fun food wonderland that makes every visitor happy and excited. The “a la sha cafe” is located at the intersection of Wuchang Fifth Street and Wuchang West Fourth Street in West District, Taichung. Now, Art & Culture Boulevard has one more amazing new food option.

The “a la sha cafe” is built around a blue-and-white Mediterranean-style castle, enhanced with a la sha’s signature colorful elements, making it feel like a lovely amusement park. Overall, it looks vibrant and refreshing.

The “a la sha cafe” is located on the second floor of the castle, while the first floor is an a la sha girls’ fashion store. After shopping, you can head upstairs for a coffee break, or enjoy a meal and then come down to walk around and digest—either way is great.

In addition to the building itself, there are many cartoonish designs inside the a la sha playground, making it super kawaii from every angle.

Looking from another angle, the building also features many cute aliens painted on the walls. Every view of this a la sha paradise is adorable.

Before even entering, you have to walk up the scenic staircase. On the door, there’s a blackboard with a graffiti drawing of an alien holding a knife and fork—how cute is this blackboard?!

Once inside, you’ll see these adorable cartoonish characters. The tallest one is A-Cai, leading the little Mimi and little ghostie family, lining up to welcome us.

There’s also a giant pink teddy bear sitting on the sofa inside. There are plenty of spots where you can take photos here, or you can sit down and enjoy them.

Everything here makes you want to take a photo. Whether it’s the aliens at the entrance or the pacifier-sucking little ones on the wall, their simple lines and bright colors are almost enough to drive DaKou crazy. After taking photos for a while, we’re finally going inside—so hungry. Their business hours are from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and no main meals are served from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, but pancakes, desserts, coffee, and drinks are available all day. Having afternoon tea here is such a blissful experience.

By the way, there’s also a large cartoon character guarding the entrance, right next to the area where a la sha cafe’s merchandise is displayed. If you like any of it, you can buy it and take it home.

Next to the entrance staircase, there are also shelves displaying these cartoon characters’ merchandise. Each item is super cute and makes you want to take it home. On the right side is the cake display case, filled with adorable and delicious cakes.

On the left side of the entrance, there are also many drinks and coffee options. Below the cake case, there are not only desserts but also drinks, plus adorable takeaway boxes and gift boxes. The cuteness level here is so high it could melt even DaKou.

The seats in the cafe are also designed with different cartoon characters. Whether on the table or the wall, the simple lines and colorful characters make you want to scream with joy.

Dining at the “a la sha cafe” feels like eating in a Mediterranean-style castle, with vibrant and adorable graffiti decorations everywhere. Every corner features shadows of A-Cai or little cats, accompanying us throughout our meal.

We usually reserve a seat in advance. There’s also a kids' corner with some cartoonish decorations. You have to say it’s explosively cute. The men’s and women’s restrooms are guided by a piglet and a giraffe, respectively—even the small details are well thought out, which is amazing.

Whether you’re here for coffee, food, or dessert, every corner offers a different surprise. The staff here are super friendly, and the atmosphere makes customers feel really relaxed.

On the right side of the entrance is the ordering counter. The menus hanging there are also super cute. The menu is handmade, tied simply with string on kraft paper. The colorful cover makes you really look forward to the dishes inside.

Before choosing a seat, you’ll also see various cute alien cartoons on the wall. How could you not fall for it?

There are quite a few choices. You can pick from set A, B, or C. There are many options.

Besides the set meals, there are also individual options like croissants, parfaits, coffee, tea, juice, sodas, pasta, and hot dogs—lots of variety.

I ordered the Oreo slushie (110 NT), with a slice of A-Cai chocolate on top of the whipped cream—so adorable. The slushie has a fragrant cocoa aroma, is slightly sweet but not cloying, and has a rich chocolate flavor without being too sweet. It’s really good.

I also got the A-Cai latte (85 NT), topped with a 3D bear latte art—so cute. The entire coffee cup features A-Cai. They’re also sold in-store, and my friend said she wanted to buy a set.

% The blueberries have a slightly tangy, fruity aroma, with a crisp texture that’s refreshingly appetizing.

% Packed with plenty of ingredients, including lots of cauliflower and onions—almost every bite has veggies in it. The flavor is pretty good too.

% The warm starter (150 TWD) is honestly amazing. It arrives in a small orange-red earthenware pot, filling the air with an irresistible aroma.

% The dish is topped with cheese and a green herb garnish, creating a visually appealing presentation.

% The rich cheese aroma pairs perfectly with the savory tomato sauce. The texture is hearty and springy, making it incredibly delicious.

% The chicken is tender and juicy, bursting with sweet meaty juices when you bite into it. The texture is wonderful on its own, but even better with the melted cheese—it’s truly unforgettable (licks lips)!

% The duck breast dish (200 TWD) is surprisingly generous. Alongside corn shoots, mushrooms, and other ingredients, there are several slices of duck breast, and the melted cheese on top is irresistible.

% The spicy flavor isn’t overpowering but adds a gentle, aromatic kick that’s very enjoyable.

% The pasta is smooth and creamy, with a mild spiciness that enhances the flavors without being too intense. The shrimp are fresh and plump, and the dish remains delicious even after it cools down. The creamy sauce is rich and satisfying, making this a standout dish (eyes light up)!

% The risotto (240 TWD) may look simple, but it’s surprisingly impressive. It’s loaded with shrimp and finely chopped ingredients, topped with melted cheese. Take a big bite—you won’t regret it.

% The shrimp are springy and abundant—there’s almost one in every few bites. Beyond their natural sweetness and elasticity, they also bring a rich umami flavor.

% The risotto is bursting with shrimp aroma, making it uniquely delicious and hard to resist. Fans of risotto shouldn’t miss this.

% The oysters (220 TWD) are here—and each one is surprisingly large, almost drumstick-sized. The golden, crispy coating is non-greasy, offering a juicy, tender bite with a crispy exterior. Topped with tartar sauce, the flavor is even better. There’s no fishy taste—the oysters are delicious on their own or with the sauce. Remember to eat them while hot for the best experience.

% The pancake (230 TWD) looks absolutely stunning when it arrives. Besides the signature A-Cai chocolate chips on top, the pancake is layered with roasted marshmallows, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and decorated with whipped cream and maple leaf designs—it’s irresistibly cute.

% The roasted marshmallows stretch like cheese, with a smoother, denser texture that’s sweet and slightly chewy, making marshmallow lovers go wild. There’s also hidden peanut butter inside, adding a rich, creamy flavor. This dessert is so delightful it’ll make you want to spin around. Even the most stoic person will melt.

% The alien-themed pancake (115 TWD) features cute alien doodles and three Tiffany-blue roses made of cream. It’s practically a work of art—you won’t want to take a bite.

% But we had to cut into it eventually (sigh).

% The pancake base is soft and fluffy, with layers of roasted marshmallows inside. The marshmallows are made from crushed marshmallow bits, giving them a unique texture. The combination of textures makes each bite incredibly satisfying. The creativity in this dish is truly admirable.

% Their takeout boxes are shaped like little houses, with classic alien doodles on every side—so cute it’s explosive. Even the packaging puts you in a great mood.

% Our final bill was only 249 TWD, and the prices are really reasonable. Best of all, the quality doesn’t suffer despite the low cost—it’s absolutely loved.

% The interior is filled with joyful energy. Every corner is photo-worthy, turning any shot into a cute and playful scene. There’s also a small bar on the first floor (currently under preparation and soon to open). After shopping, you can grab a drink and recharge before continuing.

% “A La Sha Cafe” is truly a cute wonderland loved by both kids and adults. The bright blue-and-white castle-like building, adorned with unexpectedly adorable doodles, gives off a friendly alien-smiling vibe. The food is equally amazing—try the grilled Milanese cheese meatballs, green pesto spicy duck breast pasta, marshmallow peanut pancake, and shrimp risotto. Each dish is a delightful surprise. The drinks, like A-Cai’s classic latte and Little Muddled Chocolate Oreo slush, are as beautiful as they are tasty. The prices are very affordable, offering great value. You’ll miss it the moment you leave “A La Sha Cafe.” We highly recommend it—if you get the chance, come try it. You’ll end up missing it every day, just like DaKou.
