Half a year ago, I often hung out around Chifeng Street. This alley between Zhongshan MRT Station and Shuanglian MRT Station has seen many unique shops open in recent years. Near the Zhongshan Station end, there are the Japanese-style Kogei Shokudo and Hibi Coffee, while closer to Shuanglian Station, you’ll find Rooster Coffee, Modern Mode Cafe, Little Gift French Pastry, and Nagoya Daidokoro. Shops like Rooster Coffee, Modern Mode Cafe, and Little Gift French Pastry are all places I discovered while strolling through Chifeng Street.

I remember discovering Miss V Bakery on Instagram. At the time, I was deeply drawn to the cinnamon rolls in the photos. Later, when I searched online, I found out that cinnamon rolls are their signature item. However, Miss V Bakery doesn’t have many seats, so I usually just get takeout.

The blackboard on the shop’s exterior lists the desserts available that day.

The interior space is really small, so if you want to dine in, it’s best to come early.

Although the shop is small, the decor is quite cozy.

The desserts on the table are room-temperature treats, while the cheesecake is kept in the kitchen.

It was this cinnamon roll that made me rush here as soon as I saw the photo—I’ve lost count of how many I’ve taken home.

A first-time visitor, upon seeing the table full of desserts, looked like they wanted to take it all.

In the end, we ordered this whole spread—though this is only half of it, with several other desserts yet to arrive.

Warm Plum Cake
The soft cake pairs well with whipped cream, adding moisture, while the slightly sweet cream balances the tartness of the plums.

Passion Fruit Cheesecake
Based on a New York-style cheesecake, topped with passion fruit sauce, the cheesecake has a rich aroma and a dense, delicate texture. I once tried another caramel salted cheesecake here on takeout, and I personally prefer the caramel salted version.

Chocolate Scone
To be honest, this scone isn’t very moist—it crumbled into several pieces with just a fork poke. My favorite scone is still from Smith & Hsu.

Lemon Muffin
The muffin is topped with lemon glaze, giving off a refreshing citrus aroma.

Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll
Cinnamon is one of those things people either love or hate—some can’t stand the smell. I’m definitely in the love-it camp. This place offers cinnamon rolls in several ways: plain, with glaze, or with cream cheese. My favorite is the cream cheese version—the staff toasts the roll before drizzling it with cream cheese. It’s slightly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and not too dry.

Persimmon Tower
A limited-time dessert that day, it’s surprisingly delicious to see persimmons turned into a sweet treat.

Handmade Lucky Cookies (for photo ops)
Aside from being a dessert shop, Miss V Bakery also offers custom wedding cakes. These handmade cookies are amazingly good—I’d say they’re the best wedding cookies I’ve ever had. When I get married, I’ll definitely order my wedding cake from Miss V Bakery.

Specialty Iced Tea
All tea pairings here are $120, or $100 when paired with desserts. The teas used are from Twinings.

That day, a friend gave me a box of LADURÉE, so I took some unboxing photos (?)

Although LADURÉE’s macarons are also delicious, I personally prefer JPH and PH’s.

Talking with a friend, we realized that over the years we’ve tried so many desserts that our taste buds have become quite picky. The last time we went to a certain dessert shop, it was a total letdown, and my friend didn’t want to go out to eat with me for a while. Thankfully, bringing my friend to Miss V Bakery this time didn’t disappoint.
