The ultra-popular product “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Chili Powder,” which has achieved over 2 billion yen in sales in Japan, will go on sale at Ichiran Taiwan’s Taipei flagship store on September 14. This adds another souvenir option to the gift section, alongside the original Ichiran Ramen Hakata-style straight noodles. The “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Chili Powder” (5-pack) is priced at NT$750.

The appearance of the “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Chili Powder” is somewhat similar to instant noodles, but it cannot be prepared by simply soaking — it must be boiled in hot water for 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 3 minutes and 30 seconds. After that, add the soup base packet and the seasoning oil packet, and finally, you can add the red secret chili powder according to your preference. Compared to the Japanese official website price of 2,000 yen for a 5-pack (approximately NT$560 at the current exchange rate of 0.279), the Taiwanese selling price is nearly NT$200 more. However, it’s roughly the same as current online proxy purchase prices. If you don’t want to spend extra, you’ll have to ask friends traveling to Fukuoka, Japan, to bring some back for you.
