Single woman loves vintage fashion, encounters strange incident: Temple keeper warns, 'Don't wear dead people's clothes'

This is a true story that happened to my friend... Although many stories start this way, I must emphasize, "This is a true story that happened to my friend."

Even though Taipei has a well-developed public transportation system, for many people, riding a motorcycle is still more convenient. My friend is a woman with a strong sense of personal fashion, and she particularly prefers vintage clothing. All the clothes in her wardrobe are purchased from fixed vintage shops. Even the essence of past eras' fashion designs takes on an indescribable charm when worn by her, which is why she often draws many second glances on the street. Sometimes, when sitting on the back of her motorcycle as she weaves through the streets and alleys, you can always feel the eyes of many other motorcyclists quietly fixed on her.

The incident happened within the past month. My friend said she was stopped by different police officers twice while riding recently. After obediently pulling over, the officers all said the same thing: "Huh? I thought the person on the back of your bike wasn’t wearing a helmet." But at the time, my friend was riding alone.

Later, my friend’s mother took her to a temple to have a spirit-calming ritual, and the temple keeper finally told my friend, "Don’t wear dead people’s clothes anymore."
