If you don’t have a stomach as big as Luffy’s, don’t casually challenge the Luffy Big Eater Set.

I’ve been eyeing this 【LV 5.5, New Humans’ Paradise】 for ages. That day, I specially brought my friend from a different generation to eat here. There was also her friend in Taichung, almost her peer, who she had to call “niece” XD. The biggest advantage of young people coming is that we could order more dishes to share, greatly enhancing the variety and fun factor. If you’re walking along Xitun Road toward Fengjia, you’ll spot it on your right. On weekends, there are tons of young people here, and with the shuttle bus stop nearby, many students come here for group meals. Because of One Piece, I’ve actually wanted to come for a long time. Finally made the visit today XD

I’ve been watching One Piece since university, but these days with more things going on, I don’t have the time to keep up with every episode anymore. But the feeling of camaraderie between those characters and the scenes from the series always stir emotions deep inside me. Many people love One Piece because we all yearn for that kind of companionship. Many of us truly hope to have a group of friends like that in our lives. Stepping into 【LV 5.5, New Humans’ Paradise】, I felt like I’d returned to that emotional thrill—like when you’re so immersed in a movie that you really feel like you’re part of the story. Seeing the walls and flags in this place brings back that resonance with the series in such a fun way.

We all have our own great dreams, and a perhaps not-so-easy-to-reach ‘Grand Line’ lies ahead of us. That’s exactly why, as I said before, no one can succeed entirely on their own. Along the journey, there will definitely be people who accompany you, follow you, and support you—just like you all. Sometimes I’m moved by you all. It’s touching how my small act of sharing can spark the same enthusiasm and selflessness in you. When someone is coming to Taichung, you immediately leave comments to tell them how to get here. Because of the topics we discuss, we become friends who chat about everything under the sun.

I’m happy that while I’m chasing my own dreams, I also have you all accompanying me. That often reminds me to keep going. Even if I have work to do or am preparing for a long trip, I can’t cut back on daily updates and posts. After all, you’re all here—how could I not be?

As the women sat down to order, I wandered around the shop. There are so many One Piece figurines displayed here, and the space and seating are really relaxing. It’s perfect for ‘crewmates’ to dine together. There’s also a large floor-to-ceiling window on one side, and the sunlight on a nice day makes the place even warmer.

These figurines always remind me of the thrill I felt during those convenience store promotions. I love Luffy, Chopper, and even Zoro who’s always getting lost (I get lost a lot too XD).

There was also a giant Chopper on the seat that day—we can imagine it must’ve been used for tons of photos with us XD.

Sitting in this spot, watching my friend from a different generation chat with her friends, I sometimes think how fast time flies. Back then, she was just five years old and about a meter tall. Now she talks about what kind of boys she likes and shares secrets with her friends. Thinking that in six years she’ll be in university—the speed is just crazy.

There are lots of couples and young people here, and later in the day we also saw many families out for meals together on the weekend. This place really is affordable American-style dining—you can chomp down burgers and meat to your heart’s content. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed. It’s really suitable for all kinds of groups. And seeing those familiar characters on the walls really makes you giggle XD.

This time, since there were four of us, plus these two young girls who can seriously put away meat, we went straight for the 【Luffy Big Eater Set】. The staff said it included Brook’s Ribs, Admiral Fujitora’s Meteor Rice Burger, a large bowl of soup, and fries—perfectly shareable among the four of us XD.

We ordered an iced lemon tea and a Jade Lemon—it was pretty good. Ice cold and perfect for a Taichung afternoon where it’s still 30°C XD.

It was the first time we ordered the 【Luffy Big Eater Set】. When everything arrived, all four of us were shocked—especially by the 【Brook’s Ribs】. We never expected so many. There were easily over ten ribs!!! The rice burger, soup, and fries all came on signature American-style plates. When they were placed on the table, people at nearby tables gasped and kept glancing over at us XD.

The burger patties might seem small to you, but that’s only because they’re next to the ribs. In truth, they’re surprisingly thick and wide—one of the thickest I’ve seen. The aroma wafting from the grilled ribs and the steak burger filled the air, pulling us in. Right away, I was swallowing saliva while hurrying to take pictures XD. Because I knew it wouldn’t be long before we started breaking apart those ribs.

No matter which angle you shoot from, the color and aroma of these ribs just make you drool non-stop. For rib lovers or anyone who wants to eat a ton of meat, this is really an over-the-top temptation XD. Slice after slice, I started breaking the ribs apart. I’d forgotten how many there were—but I’m pretty sure it was over ten.

Each rib had a hint of sweet barbecue sauce, and the meat was perfectly tender—not dry at all, with just the right juiciness. Inside, there were also cartilage bits, and when you bit into them, the burst of meat juice mixed with the cartilage I love so much made chewing so satisfying.

I ate about three ribs myself. Each one had so many layers of flavor and left a really lasting taste. But honestly, the four of us couldn’t finish the whole rack, because there were also the rice burger, fries, and soup—it was really too much food. Oh, and if anyone can finish everything on the table within 30 minutes, it’s free. The staff said no one’s succeeded yet XD. I think anyone who can finish in 30 minutes is basically a superhero.

Next up, the rice burger—the steak patty was seriously impressive, easily over three centimeters thick. When we sliced into it, the juices just poured out—and that shocked us again XD.

The steak burger was really solid, the beef juice showed off the chewy texture and meaty aroma. We sliced off a piece of the burger and paired it with the special rice on the side. The meat juice mixed with the rice—it was so delicious. The staff mentioned you can place the burger directly on the rice to slice it, but we were afraid it wouldn’t look as nice in photos XD, so we handled it more ‘gently’ and just mixed the bite of meat with the rice. Still super tasty.

The potatoes were huge and skin-on. That portion could’ve fed two kids XD. Especially my friend from a different generation, who loves fries. The soup was insanely good—the ingredients were generous, and every scoop had big chunks. Whether it was the potatoes, onions, or ham—they were all so hearty.

Before long, I zoned out. My stomach was full of beef and ribs. Thankfully, we came at noon on purpose, so there was less guilt. Watching those two young ones was great—they can eat without worry, and their bodies won’t suddenly balloon sideways (I’m being cheeky XD). Also, this drink was a lightly alcoholic one—definitely for the adults. With its citrusy sweet-tart flavor and sparkling vibe, it was delicious. Really pairs well with this American-style meal.

This 【LV 5.5, New Humans’ Paradise】 is near Xitun Road and Hankou Road. Highly recommended for fans of American food. It’s even better with a big group—you can order their big sets to share. Fans of One Piece can come here to eat, take photos, and hang out with crewmates while chasing your dreams.
