Taiwan Lantern Festival revealed early: Fengyuan Railway Station transformed into a dreamy pastry house

The 2015 Taiwan Lantern Festival will be held in Taichung. Today (27th), the design and planning details of the Fengyuan Lantern Area were unveiled first, featuring local pastries and lacquerware as themes. Fengyuan Railway Station will be turned into a dreamy pastry house, allowing visitors to step into a fantastical world of desserts.

Following 2003, the Taiwan Lantern Festival is once again being held in Taichung. The first details to be revealedThe Fengyuan Lantern Area will center around the Fengyuan Miaodong Commercial District, showcasing the “Five Goods of Fengyuan” — clear water, rice-white hues, pastry aromas, dry materials, and beautiful women. Light corridors will be set up along both sides of Sanmin Road and Zhongzheng Road in front of Fengyuan Railway Station, creating a main lantern area that blends humanities, art, and the Fengyuan commercial district.The three main festival venues — the High-Speed Rail Wuri Station, Taichung Park, and the Fengyuan Lantern Area — will all feature large-scale main lanterns themed around sheep, symbolizing the “Three Yangs Usher in Prosperity” of the Year of the Sheep, bringing joy as people welcome the new year.
