The “2017 Taipei Riverside Music Festival – Dadaocheng Lovers’ Day” is being held today (26th) with great fanfare at Yanping Riverside Park and around the Dadaocheng Wharf. To ensure smooth traffic and public safety, phased traffic controls will be implemented on nearby roads for cars, motorcycles, YouBikes, and parking areas. Members of the public planning to attend the fireworks are advised to pay close attention, and it is recommended to use public transportation to arrive on time.

Traffic controls for cars and motorcycles:

Starting at 18:30 today, phased traffic controls will be enforced on roads around the Dadaocheng Wharf. The controlled area extends south to Zhongxiao West Road (from Tacheng Street to Huandao North Road), north to Liangzhou Street (from Huandao North Road to Yanping North Road), east to Yanping North Road – Tacheng Street (excluding Yanping North Road and Tacheng Street), and west to Huandao South and North Roads (including the roads). From 20:40 to 21:50, a control point will be set up at the intersection of Chengde Road and Minsheng West Road, prohibiting vehicles from traveling westbound.

Within the event areas at Dadaocheng Wharf and Yanping Riverside Park, starting at 18:00, vehicle access at Gate 3 and Gate 5 will be one-way only (exit only); starting at 18:30, all vehicle access in and out will be controlled until 23:00 the same day. Gate 4 will be closed at 17:00 as an emergency access route. From 06:00 to 23:00 on the day of the event, cycling through or within the activity zone is prohibited. Additionally, bicycle traffic will be controlled starting at 14:00 on August 26 at Gates 1-6 (including Emergency Gate 5-1) and at the approach to the riverside park under Taipei Bridge. At 18:30, the “Earth Reborn” overpass connecting the bicycle path outside the dike near the Dajian Sewage Treatment Plant Park and Huandao North Road will also be under control.　

YouBike rental services:

YouBike stations at Exit 3 of Beimen Metro Station, Dadaocheng Park Station, and Zhongxing Branch of Taipei City Hospital will suspend operations and will not offer bike pick-up or return services from 16:30 to 24:00 on the day.

Parking controls on the dike and surrounding roads:

The off-dike parking lot between Gate 3 and Gate 5 will be cleared and controlled from 06:00 to 23:00 on August 26; starting at 12:00, some off-dike parking spaces will have temporary parking restrictions lifted and then become no-parking zones. Yellow no-parking zones and legally restricted temporary parking areas will extend towing times for illegal parking until 23:00 on the day. During the event, increased enforcement against illegal parking will take place on Zhongxiao Bridge, Taipei Bridge, the Huandao Expressway, and surrounding roads, with slow-moving or lingering vehicles being directed away or removed.

Shuttle bus schedules:

On the day of the event, the Taipei City Government will provide a special shuttle bus service, “Route 136 Event Bus,” running from Shuanglian Metro Station to Minsheng West Road (near Dadaocheng Wharf, close to Gate 5). Service hours run from 14:30 to 22:00 (the final departure time may be adjusted based on crowd dispersal and passenger flow). The fare is a single flat rate. Additional trains will also be added on the Tamsui and Songshan MRT lines during this period. Starting at 18:00, bus stops “Yanping Temple” and “Dadaocheng Wharf” inside Dadaocheng Wharf will be temporarily suspended due to gate closures. Furthermore, between 18:30 and 23:00, certain bus stops and routes within the controlled traffic zone will be canceled or rerouted.
