A Thousand Japanese Performers to Stage “Dance Festival in Taiwan” This Weekend

To promote tourism and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has, for the 12th consecutive year, invited Japanese performance groups to hold the “Dance Festival in Taiwan 2014” (祭りイン台湾2014) on December 6 and 7. This year, a total of 68 Japanese groups will participate, bringing over a thousand performers from Japan.

In addition to idol groups such as Allover and Weather Girls, there will also be traditional performances such as “Rock Music” by Chichibu Yatai V Rice Blossom, “Bisa Dance” by Nankai Yosakoi Soran Dance Group, and “Wadaiko” by Urayasu Taiko Shuufuku Ren. Modern and traditional cultural performances will take turns entertaining the audience. Besides the lively performance events, there are also booths offering various tourism and sightseeing information. On December 6 (Saturday) starting at 12:30 PM and December 7 (Sunday) starting at 12:00 PM, the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi New World have set up special venues for performances — an annual highlight of Taiwanese-Japanese cultural and artistic exchange.
