Friends who have been to Singapore must have tried Jumbo Seafood, ranked first among the Singapore Tourism Board’s top 10 seafood restaurants. Now you can enjoy their signature chili crab and pepper crab without leaving Taiwan. Jumbo Seafood’s first Taiwan store will open on December 16, located on the 3rd floor of A8, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi New World.

Founded in 1987, Jumbo Seafood started as a small shop at the East Coast Seafood Centre. After 30 years, it has grown into one of Singapore’s largest restaurant groups, with operations expanding both domestically and internationally, including branches in Mainland China and Vietnam. Known for its chili crab and pepper crab—dubbed “Singapore’s national dish”—these are must-order dishes for every visitor to Jumbo Seafood.

The highlight of chili crab is its sauce made from chili and tomato ketchup, offering a sweet and tangy flavor with a hint of spice, while the egg batter adds a rich yet fluffy texture. Besides chili crab and pepper crab, salted egg yolk prawns and crispy squid are also signature dishes at Jumbo Seafood.

Currently, Jumbo Seafood has five outlets in Singapore, five in China, and one in Vietnam. The restaurant has received numerous awards and certifications, including “Singapore’s 50 Most Inspiring Companies” and the “Service Excellence Award” from the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board, “Best Restaurant Award” from Singapore Tatler, the prestigious Singapore’s Prestige Brand Award, and being listed among “Singapore’s Top 50 Restaurants” by Singapore Business Review. It is also ranked first among the Singapore Tourism Board’s top 10 seafood restaurants, a globally recognized dining destination highly recommended by consumers, travel websites, and media.

However, Jumbo Seafood is not the first Singaporean restaurant to enter Taiwan. Putien, whose flagship store earned one Michelin star in Singapore, was introduced to Taiwan in 2015 through the Din Tai Fung Group. At Putien, you can also enjoy chili crab and pepper crab. The chili crab here features a rich, secret sauce made from chili and tomato ketchup, with a bright red, spicy-sweet flavor enhanced by fresh spices such as galangal, ginger, and turmeric blended with tomatoes. The black pepper crab combines Chinese soy sauce, black pepper, small chili peppers, and Western-style butter.
