Cat cafés are no longer a novelty—Japan’s theme parks launch the world’s first “capybara café”!

Cat cafés are no longer a novelty; Japan has now introduced the “capybara café”! Visitors can not only get up close with capybaras and watch their adorable antics in the hot springs, but also enjoy unlimited drinks.

Located in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Space World theme park may be a lesser-known destination for Taiwanese travelers, with all its attractions themed around “space.”

At the end of November, the park launched Japan’s first-ever “capybara café.” For just 500 Japanese yen (about NT$130) per person, visitors can interact with the seven adorable capybaras in the facility, and even have the chance to feed them by hand. The café offers 27 types of soft drinks for unlimited consumption, as well as an indoor dining area where guests can relax with their drinks while watching the capybaras play freely outdoors.
