According to the website’s rankings, the most searched food keyword is “café,” which is attributed to the coffee craze that has swept Taiwan in recent years. The second most popular keyword, “brunch,” reflects a trendy and relaxed dining style that has gained popularity in recent years—people often sleep in on weekends and enjoy a more substantial meal than breakfast, with brunch restaurants frequently chosen as gathering spots for young people. The third most searched keyword, “Italian restaurant,” is also a common type of eatery in Taiwan, with pasta and risotto aligning well with locals’ preferences for main meals.

Additionally, newly opened restaurants that quickly became popular, such as Japan’s Sukiya, Hong Kong’s Tim Ho Wan, 13 Seats Beef Offal, and RAW—the new venture by “Michelin’s Takeshi Kaneshiro” of the culinary world, chef André Chiang—are also consistently high in search traffic.
