Free shuttle buses on Saturdays and Sundays along three routes to accommodate crowds during the Christmas Season in Wanjin

To manage the large influx of visitors during the Christmas Season in Wanjin, Pingtung County Government has launched a shuttle bus plan starting December 13, offering free rides along three routes every Saturday and Sunday. Yan Fenglan, head of Pingtung County’s Tourism and Communications Department, said that this year the shuttle buses will run as far as Pingtung Railway Station. Out-of-town visitors can take the train and then transfer to the shuttle buses. Visitors are welcome to make use of this service.

The Tourism and Communications Department noted that this year’s Christmas Season in Wanjin shuttle bus service will operate along three routes. Route A starts from the Pingtung Bus Terminal (Railway Station), passing through Pingtung University’s Minsheng Campus, Pingtung University’s PingShang Campus, Linluo Township Office, Linluo Junior High School, and reaching part of Wulaluzi. The public can board at the nearest bus stop.

Route B is dedicated to traveling between Wanjin Military Camp and Wulaluzi Tribe. Visitors can park their vehicles at the Wanjin Military Camp and then take the shuttle bus to Wulaluzi Tribe, where they can enjoy locally produced Taiwu coffee before strolling to the Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Mary in Wanjin.

Route C covers Wanluan Township Office, Wanluan Elementary School, Wanluan Junior High School, Jiazo Elementary School, and reaches the Dongshan Intersection in Chishan Village. Along the route, Wanluan Elementary School, Wanluan Fire Brigade, Jiazo Elementary School, and Jiahe Community Activity Center all offer parking for visitors.

The Tourism and Communications Department stated that among these three shuttle routes, Route B will start operating at 11:00 AM, while Routes A and C will begin at 4:00 PM. Buses run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. Due to the narrow roads in the Wanjin area, traffic control measures have been implemented on surrounding roads by the police to avoid congestion. The public is advised to pay attention to the timing and scope of road controls, parking arrangements, and shuttle bus schedules and locations.
