Vietnamese low-cost airline Vietjet officially launched flights between Taipei and Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of the 12th, providing weekly service on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for passengers from Taiwan and Vietnam. During the inaugural ceremony, Vietjet also announced that it will soon open new routes connecting Taichung and Kaohsiung to both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, offering travelers more travel opportunities at the lowest fares.

Since its establishment, Vietjet Airlines has been“famous for in-flight flash performances,”often having flight attendants dress up as various unique characters or wear themed costumes to create a lively atmosphere on board. One of the most talked-about events was the“flight attendant bikini show”which sparked widespread discussion. However, on today’s inaugural flight, Vietjet offered magic performances and folk dances instead.

At the airport reception, flight attendants also performed an enthusiastic flash mob dance and gave out small gifts to the public, sharing the joy of the inaugural flight. Vietjet’s Business Development Manager Lin Yihuang stated, “Fall in love with flying from the first trip” is Vietjet’s consistent belief. On March 20 next year, a special flight will be launched — this “Spread the Love” flight will offer special services, including 100% free discounts on the outbound journey and 50% free discounts on the return.

The one-way flight time from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City is 3 hours and 25 minutes. The departure time from Taipei is 20:00 (Taiwan Time), arriving at 22:25 (Vietnam Time). The return departs at 14:30 (Vietnam Time) and arrives at 18:55 (Taiwan Time), making it a late-afternoon departure and midday return schedule. Vietjet operates a total of 20 domestic destinations and 7 international destinations in Vietnam. With the launch of the Taipei route, it becomes Vietjet’s 28th destination.
