Tomorrow (Dec. 25) is Christmas, and what if you want to have a Christmas dinner in the evening but can’t get a table? Two restaurants have launched special Christmas takeaway sets: the limited-edition Christmas Roast Chicken set from Salvatore Cuomo & Bar Italian Restaurant, and the Truffle Bread-Wrapped Chicken from Truffle Home, aiming to let more people enjoy a delicious Christmas meal.

Truffle Home, a high-end French restaurant themed around truffles, has specially invited Chef Xu Guobin, known as the "Baking King in France," to co-create this year’s most exciting dish — the “Truffle Bread-Wrapped Chicken.” A carefully selected imported French spring chicken is marinated with pepper and salt for over 20 hours to infuse flavor, then stuffed with the restaurant’s signature truffle mashed potatoes. The exterior is made with T55 and Cronscours flour — specified for international bread competitions — blended with a secret truffle sauce. The dough is wrapped around the chicken, undergoes a 12-hour cold fermentation, and is then baked until golden and crispy. Ye Ziqi, CEO of Truffle Home, said that with nearly 90% of Christmas reservations already booked, the restaurant is offering a special Christmas takeaway promotion (Dec. 23–25) of 50 chickens per day (limited to Taipei City area). Reservations start now, at NT$1,350 per chicken (with free home delivery).

Salvatore Cuomo & Bar Italian Restaurant, which won the World Championship in the Naples Pizza Competition, will offer the Buon Natale Christmas Couple Set and the Christmas Roast Chicken Takeaway Set on Dec. 23, 24, and 25. For those three days, they will also offer a limited-edition Christmas Roast Chicken Takeaway Set, including a chef’s special salad, a Naples-style pizza (choose one from Margherita Pizza, Romana Pizza, Italian Smoked Ham with French Fries Pizza, or Mixed Fresh Mushrooms & Smoked Ham Pizza), and a half charcoal-grilled chicken. The half-chicken is seasoned with Italian herbs and roasted to perfection, offering an aromatic and finger-licking taste. Since the ingredients are prepared using traditional methods and take time, customers are required to place their orders two days in advance by phone. Originally priced from NT$1,300, the takeaway set is now available at a discounted price of NT$999.
